Scott obtained his first team of Clydesdales in the fall of 2000 when he purchased Colonel and Major, the team pictured above. He fell in love with the breed and enjoyed the unique coloration and always planned to someday breed and raise not only Clydesdales but for the specific blue roan color. Today Scott and Marie own a blue roan stallion and several blue roan mares in their effort to not only promote the breed but this unique coloration.
Blue roan is a color where there is a mixture of white and black or grey hair giving the horse a blue tint. Often this coloration is registered as black both because the horses are darker in the winter and because there are some breeders who have a preference for black over blue roan.
